MW Bro. Joseph Burris is the youngest son of Mr. Joseph Burris Sr. and Mrs. Mary
Castle Burris. He graduated from North Gaston Senior High School located in North
Carolina in June 1989. He attended Livingstone College and the University of Phoenix
where he received his Degree in General Studies. He is married to Arteria Hayes Burris
and has two sons; Keenan and Joseph.
He is the third generation of Freemason's within his family. He has served within the
Craft Lodge as the Junior Deacon, Senior Deacon, Junior Warden, Senior Warden and
Worshipful Master. He has served within the Grand Lodge as the Grand Secretary,
Grand Junior Warden, Deputy Grand Master and is the current Grand Master of the
Regular Grand Lodge of Virginia. He has served in numerous positions in the Adoptive
Rite, the Capitular Rite, the Crytic Rite, the Chivalric Rite, the Ancient and Accepted
Rite and lastly the Ancient and Primitive Rite. He is also a member of the International
Masonic Research Lodge, the Freemason Forum and the Masonic Light Group. He is
the Past Secretary General of the Masonic High Council of the United States of
America and current Deputy Secretary General for the Masonic High Council of
England and Wales, the Mother Masonic High Council of the World.
He is the current elected President of the Masonic High Council of the United States of
America, Confederation of Regular Grand Lodges, Conference of Grand Masters.
Indeed his Masonic Career has followed; In Youth we ought industriously occupy our
minds with the attainment of useful knowledge; in Manhood we should apply our
knowledge to the discharged of our respective duties to God, our neighbors and
ourselves. MW Bro. Joseph Burris has truly occupied his mind and discharged the
same for the prosperity of our Jurisdiction.
